Description

An article titled "Ministers differ on Carter church" from the November 1, 1976 issue of the Tallahassee Democrat. It covers how two local Tallahassee ministers reacted differently to the news of Jimmy Carter's church in Plains, Ga. denying membership to an African American man. Having occurred previous to the presidential election, Rev. C. K. Steele from Bethel Missionary Baptist Church suspected it "as a Republican trick." However, as the article details, Rev. R. N. Gooden from St. Mary's Primitive Baptist Church thinks otherwise.
