It covers the transition of the Bethel A.M.E. Church from its old building to a new one. One of the first two African Methodist Episcopal churches in Tallahassee, the article also talks about its history, more specifically in civil rights.

An article titled "Ministers differ on Carter church" from the November 1, 1976 issue of the Tallahassee Democrat. It covers how two local Tallahassee ministers reacted differently to the news of Jimmy Carter's church in Plains, Ga. denying membership to an African American man. Having occurred previous to the presidential election, Rev. C. K. Steele from Bethel Missionary Baptist Church suspected it "as a Republican trick." However, as the article details, Rev. R. N. Gooden from St. Mary's Primitive Baptist Church thinks otherwise.

In it, Koontz talks about the Zion Hope Primitive Baptist Church moving from their old building to a new one. Moreover, she talks about what will happen to the historic building where they gathered in Gretna.

In it, she describes how many of the churches in Tallahassee remain segregated, and how the Tallahassee Council of Pastors will address this. Moreover, she talks about the possible reasons the churches remain segregated by choice, as well as the influence of history, and other efforts to integrate.

Hogan writes about the observance of Maundy Thursday by Bethel A. M. E. Church, and how it is distinctly a Judeo-Christian ritual that other churches do not practice.
