Description
A photo album with pictures from The Carter Howell Strong Park Dedication Ceremony that took place at noon on February 20th, 1993. Eunice Spencer Carter, Mamie Johnson Simmons Strong and Aquilina C. Howell were honored for their leadership, commitment and service to Frenchtown in the naming of the park, and can be seen pictured in many of the photographs, including the ribbon cutting. Other unidentified individuals are pictured speaking at the event and at the moment of the ribbon cutting. At the end, there is also a newspaper clipping from the Tallahassee Democrat, November 7th 1992, about tree planting in Frenchtown around the pond that eventually was made into a lake, and subsequently the Carter Howell Strong park.
