Description

A photograph of Caleb "Cooper" Hannah, the first Black plumber in Tallahassee. Born October 16, 1916 to the late Caleb, Sr. and Estell McGill Hannah, he was the sixth child of fourteen children. He completed up to the sixth grade and was able to pass the plumbing contractor's state examination by memorizing the plumbing code manual. Thereafter, he established and operated Hannah's Plumbing Company for over 50 years. Moreover, he was also known for being politically active during the Civil Rights Movement.
