A collection of material related to Aquilina Casanas Howell and her husband, Samuel F. Howell. Aquilina was a prominent educator in Tallahassee and was the first woman to serve as Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Leon County. Samuel was a longtime Tallahassee insurance agent with Atlanta Life Insurance Company. Included in the material is the program for the 1993 dedication of the Carter-Howell-Strong Park in Frenchtown, the program for a 1977 banquet honoring Samuel F. Howell's retirement, and a 1969 Tallahassee Democrat clipping concerning remedial courses and African American students.

Prominent Tallahassee figures appear in the material, including head Florida A&M football coach Jake Gaither.

A collection of junior high and high school certificates of recognition, progress reports, and student achievement awards made out to various members of the Davis family in Tallahassee, Florida, including Connie Beryl Davis, Rodney Davis, Danita Davis, and Kimberly Davis, who were all students at the time. The certificates and reports come from the Leon County schools Griffin Junior High, Florida A&M University High School, and Augusta Raa Junior High, historically black schools. The certificate from 1988 is made out to Anita M. Davis, most likely Anita McGhee Davis, daughter of Samantha and Ellis McGhee of Frenchtown in Tallahassee, and mother to Connie, Rodney, Danita, and Kimberly.

Orders of service of the marriage ceremonies of several African American couples in the Tallahassee area from the late 1970s to the year 2000. The orders of service include mentions of the music played during the ceremonies, lists of the wedding parties of the bride and groom, the coordinators of the ceremonies, and messages from the married couples to their wedding guests. Several of the ceremonies took place at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, a historically African American church in Tallahassee, Florida.
