Description

Photographs of the Porter family of Tallahassee. The first photograph is of Austin Porter, a caretaker of Waverly Plantation. The second image is a photo of the Porter family. The next photo is a studio portrait of Willie Porter and Georgia Mae Porter in the 1950s. The next image shows Austin Porter II and Rebecca Edwards Porter standing in front of a property with their baby Martha Porter. The final image depicts Austin Porter and an unidentified man on a horse-drawn wagon on Waverly Plantation. The Porter Family maintained and farmed Waverly Plantation, which was owned by a wealthy Northern family known as the Hoffmans.
