A picture of Nims Grocery and Market, located on Brevard Street and Old Bainbridge Road in Tallahassee, Florida. The store was formerly owned and operated by Joe Nims, who first rented the grocery store around 1900. A brush with the law made him run away to Canada for two years, but upon his return he borrowed $800 from his father and bought the store, which he ran since 1904 until his death in 1991.
